Natural Dyed Ticking Tote

Highlands Foundry X Salt + Still Collaboration

This piece was created in collaboration with another talented maker Salt + Still. In creating this tote we started by using vintage ticking cloth found in the Amish region in Pennsylvania. Salt + Still started by dying the various pieces of ticking cloth in natural walnut, cutch and indigo dyes. Then the dyed pieces were made into an amazing patchwork design. After the completed panel was finsihed we turned it into this one of a kind special tote. The bag is fully lined with a heavy natural duck canvas and has an interior zipper pocket made from vintage washed denim. The straps are a heavy 9 oz. vegetable tanned leather that is reinforced with solid copper rivets.
