The fabric used for this tote comes from a vintage black and cream stripe Mexican blanket from the 1930s. It is a cotton textile and when you view closely, there are indigo threads mixed with the black, throughout the weave. The weave is made up of long strips that are sewn together. It really is a beautiful vintage Mexican textile. Each one is a little different as some have wider sections of white in the stripe. We added Japanese selvage denim to the bottom portion of the bag for added durability.
There is also a black deerskin tassel with a vintage 1970s authentic Turquoise bead on the end. I love how the Turquoise pops off of the deep rich black bag.
The tote is fully lined with navy cotton canvas. There is an interior pocket with a zipper closure made from blue chambray cloth.
Shoulder straps are made from heavy 8 oz. leather in a rich black and secured with solid copper rivets that are hand hammered on.
Bag measures 17" wide X 16" tall and 6 " deep
Shoulder straps have an 8 1/2" drop
